Fun & Games – Heber Valley Activities

Aside from amazing eateries and mountain views, Heber and Midway host a plethora of memorable Heber Valley activities for families, friends and couples from local longstanding treasures to adrenaline-filled adventuring. Here are some local and visitor favorites that offer seasonal and year-round events:

TIMPANOGOS VALLEY THEATER

The mission of the Timpanogos Valley Theater is to bring families together with thoughtfully timed plays that all ages can enjoy and youth programming for the rising stars. The theater runs on volunteer participation and produces three to four plays per year. This winter, be sure to catch its 60-minute adaptation of It’s A Wonderful Life as a 1940s radio show.

MIDWAY ICE CASTLES
Midway Ice Castles has been attracting visitors from around the state and country for years. The frozen attraction is built each winter by professional ice artists with thousands upon thousands of icicles. Experience all this winter wonderland has to offer, with the LED-lit sculptures, ice slides, mazes and tunnels. There’s also fountains, sleigh rides and a private arctic alcove.

HOLIDAY LANES
Holiday Lanes is a Heber staple and has been in business since 1962. The family-friendly bowling alley uses original ball returns and pin machines and some great food like the “Big Will” double patty burger and fries or a classic malt milkshake. This laid-back community treasure brings families and friends together with every roll of the bowling ball.

INSIDE SCOOP
Inside Scoop is a new ice cream shop in Heber that is all about tasty, creative sweet treats and community. You can see them supporting local schools by giving out free ice cream coupons as prizes or offering fun holiday treats and raffles, like the Hocus Pocus Float or a hot chocolate sundae. Inside Scoop also offers dairy free and vegan ice creams to be sure no one is without something sweet to snack on.

DANIELS SUMMIT LODGE
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing staycation or an exciting adventure in the mountains, the Daniels Summit Lodge provides an excellent choice. Select your style of stay from standard rooms to suites and cabins. During the snowy months, the lodge offers snowmobiling for the adventurous.

EPIC JEEP RENTALS
Epic Jeep Rentals provides adventurers with specially outfitted 4×4 Jeeps for exploring all the wonderful and eclectic Utah terrain from red rocks down south to the national forests. If you don’t know where to start exploring, the Epic Jeep team will happily provide details and suggestions based on the type of excursion you’re looking for; you don’t need to be an expert explorer to enjoy a tour around this exotic state.

HEBER VALLEY RAILROAD
From scenic train rides to seasonal and themed rides like the North Pole Train, or the Cowboy Train, Heber Valley Railroad rides will be a unique experience for train-buff s or curious visitors alike. Adventure trains like the Raft ‘n’ Rails and the Zipline and Ride are sure to be rides that you’ll never forget. Heber Valley Railroad also celebrates and educates visitors on the history of the railway system and its importance for ancestral Utahns.

MIDWAY ICE RINK
Set amongst the pine trees lies the outdoor Midway Ice Rink that originated in 2000. It started as a fun idea and developed into the city’s seasonal essential that is spearheaded each year by volunteers. The rink even uses four refrigeration units donated from the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.

ZIPLINE UTAH
Tackle the world’s longest over-water zipline with Zipline Utah’s 3,900-foot lake spanning Screaming Falcon line. Zipline Utah offers seven different packages based on comfort and ability levels for date night, family excursions, or even groups big and small.
