All Aboard a Different Century

In 1899 Heber was linked to the rest of the world when railroad service between Heber City and Provo was established. Though both towns (and transportation) have drastically changed since then, it’s fair to say the steam locomotives still chugging along that same 16-mile track between the towns have escaped both modern-day aesthetics and amenities upgrades.

In almost 110 years of service, the Heber Valley Railroad railcars have maintained their historic authenticity while keeping smiles on all the passenger’s faces with a full-service snack car offering food and beverage throughout the train ride. It is especially fun in the winter when the North Pole Express runs from the Heber City train depot through Provo Canyon.

This 90-minute round trip train ride features hot cocoa and cookies made by Mrs. Claus, elves and Christmas carols, and a special gift from the big guy himself.
