Heber Valley Takes Best Place to Fish in Utah

Utah is a fisherman’s heaven. Rivers, streams, ponds and lakes dot the desert landscape and provide some of the greatest fishing all year long. Week in and week out throughout the year Deer Creek, Jordanelle, and Strawberry reservoirs attract fisherman from all over the state and beyond. Tantalizing anglers with trophy sized trout, big and small mouth bass, and even the elusive kokanee salmon.

Amberjack Journal is an online fishing guide network to help get anglers connected to local guides and find new places to fish. In January, they created a list of the top places to fish in Utah and named Deer Creek/Provo River as number one and Strawberry Reservoir number two.

Amberjack had some high praise for our great state, “Utah’s ‘home water’ is also one of the country’s top tailwater fish- eries. Both the Middle and Lower Provo maintain a healthy stream-flow year round, enabling consistent dry fly, nymph and streamer fishing opportunities for brown and rainbow trout.”
